In creating this new experience, we developed each new feature and innovation in collaboration with sellers to ensure that what we do supports their day-to-day operations. Three years ago, we embarked on this journey to provide a simpler payments and checkout experience for our eBay community. To put that into perspective: Just one year ago, approximately 340,000 sellers were on managed payments, representing approximately 20 percent of on-platform volume.Įverything we do is with our customers in mind. Looking ahead to the third quarter of this year, we are on track to process over 90 percent of on-platform volume. At the end of Q2 2021, we had more than 13 million sellers on managed payments and we exited the quarter processing over 80 percent of on-platform Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV). Our journey is progressing faster than expected. eBay is now managing payments in all markets, with the majority of sellers enabled for the new experience as they run their online business. This feature will give you flexibility to manage refunds in addition to how you manage cancellation requests or send a partial refund through a return request today. This month marks a significant milestone in our three-year journey to manage the end-to-end payments process on eBay, and to facilitate a more streamlined experience overall. You can do this directly from Seller Hub or our APIs. Starting in July 2019, you will also be able to issue a refund to a buyer for a percentage of the order amount of your choice, up to 100%. The updated order numbers will appear in the “order details” section of your View Order Details page, Seller Hub, reports, emails, APIs, post-transaction records, and other locations, over time, so you can efficiently track and manage your orders. We’ll attach the updated order numbers to each transaction on eBay, which will follow the transactions through their entire life cycles. ![]() Starting in summer 2019, we’ll introduce a more user-friendly order number format than the one we use in our current APIs. Easier order management with order numbers We expect to transition the majority of eBay sellers to the new payment experience by 2021.
